WESTRIDGE GOLF CENTRE AWARDED GOLF MARK

On Thursday 11th June Westridge Golf Centre owner Mark Wright, Head of Teaching Tony Lloyd and PGA assistant Steven Davis were presented their GolfMark plaque and certificate by EGU/EWGA Regional Development Officer Andrew Willems.

Westridge Golf Centre is the only golf club on the island and one of only four in Hampshire to be awarded the accreditation. GolfMark is a nationally recognised accreditation showing a clubs commitment to junior coaching, competition and safety.

‘’With this award I feel it shows our commitment to junior coaching and development and parents can see we’re providing children with a safe and fun environment to learn in. We will continue the good work here at Westridge and also in the Schools across the Island so that as many children as possible have the opportunity to try golf. With the introduction of procedures from GolfMark and a dedicated junior organiser we have seen a big rise in the number of active junior golfers at Westridge, we now coach over 50 children on a weekend and have an excellent junior team."
